What is Freemasonry?
Freemasonry is an initiatory, progressive, philosophical - rationalist Universal Institution of discreet character. It is a philosophical fraternity that through the practice of honor, morality, virtue and love for humanity seeks that men and women be better, and all its members participate in the change of humanity towards a better life.

Within the great human family there are men and women who are innately inclined to try to understand; what dwells within himself, discover what exists around him and the need to belong and collaborate in a superior purpose to their strength.
That is why there are Initiatic Orders and Fraternities such as Freemasonry, which maintains a purpose.
Its members actively participate in their personal growth and strengthen the Universal principles and values such as the well-known Liberty, Equality and Fraternity.
There is no certain date of the origin of Freemasonry, since its philosophy is inherent to the progress of Humanity, its influence is from the ancient medieval builders and their mysteries.
However, its official origin is considered to be institutionalized, on June 24, 1717, with the foundation of the Great Masonic Lodge of London, once instituted and spread throughout the world, its members organized in different rites and assemblies shared a symbolic space destined to the study of the sciences, the arts and divine inspiration, as well as a reserved knowledge among its Apprentices, Companions and Masters within the Order; This site is known as a Temple or Workshop, which is essentially composed of a universal culture and secrets that are in force to this day.
In its enclosures converge the freedom of worship of each member, thus referring to the Great Architect of the Universe as the highest representation of Divinity.
Masonic work aims to improve the social condition essentially guided by work, philanthropy and education, famous people in history have also belonged to it;
artists, politicians, scientists, educators and philanthropists who have contributed positively to society and its progress.
